It would be hard to describe an App as bad as this - unless of course you have looked at the TVNZ+ offering. It constantly buffers, periodically just freezes, there is no bookmark function that works, the closed captions option is not remembered (and for someone measured at 78% hearing impaired CC is essential) but ThreeNow disdains that. Add to that it doesn’t remember what you watched in the “Continue Watching” option and the only way to get continuity is to completely shut everything down and then open it all up again - which includes restarting the iPhone - so a 45 minute episode takes almost 2 hours to watch. I tried to watch Far North which is about bungling drug smugglers and inept police and to which the ThreeNow programmers should be added. Decidedly amateur, inept, and worth less than what you pay for it. Ie they should pay you to put up with their incompetence. I wish I could submit a minus star rating.

This app is an absolute disaster. The fact that I have to log in every single time just to watch live TV or on-demand content is beyond frustrating.I have attempted to communicate this issue multiple times, yet it has been completely ignored. Most smart TVs don’t store login credentials for good reason, and entering login credentials & a secure password using a remote is a painful, outdated experience. It genuinely feels like Warner Bros. is trying to kill this platform on purpose just so they can justify shutting it down.To make things even worse, you’re pushing third-party tethering by using Meta as a login alternative—oh hi, Boomer! Forcing users to hand over their personal data just to watch free-to-air TV is unnecessary, invasive, and flat-out lazy. Meanwhile, TVNZ+ works perfectly—open the app, pick something, and watch. No constant logins, no third-party nonsense, just a functional streaming service.Here’s what needs to change immediately:•Stop forcing repeated logins. Persistent sign-in should be the default, not a luxury.•Fix the iOS app. Right now, I can’t even log in, meaning AirPlay/mirroring isn’t an option either.•Ditch third-party tethering. No one should have to link accounts on Meta or any other platform just to access content.•Make the TV app actually usable. Navigating an on-screen keyboard with a remote is awful and should never have to be done more than once.Right now, this app is a complete failure. If you actually want people to use ThreeNow, fix these problems. Otherwise, don’t be surprised when everyone abandons it for good.

Ads — Being able to watch shows/movies for free is amazing. However, having 1-4 ads mid-watch is absolutely rubbish. And I understand the need for them, but it gets to a point. If you accidentally close the app, you get an ad. If you rewind the show/movie you’re watching, you get an ad. If you’ve just finished watching 1-4 ads, YOU GET ANOTHER WAVE OF ADS. Now, I know I shouldn’t complain since we’re getting free content, but the least you can do is minimise or change up the ads every once in a while. I’m sick of seeing the same one for the one millionth time. Fix it. No subtitles — I’m sorry but this is so incredibly wrong for those who have hearing problems, have ADHD and can’t understand what’s being said or just simply like paying attention to things they’re watching. Failing to implement this feature falls in the line of ableism, selfishness and laziness. Add this feature now.

The issues I’m currently facing: 1. Device not casting to tv. 2. Device not connecting to Apple Airplay3. When airplay finally connects, ads cause it to disconnect. 4. Having to watch ads on the device before it connects, and then watching another set of ads once it connects to the tv. 5. Having #4 happen and then the app changes it to the next episode even though you haven’t finished the last episode AND YET AGAIN PLAYS MORE ADS6. Downloading and Installing the app on to the tv, opening the show for it to come up with an error message and not working. 7. All of these issues happening so often that I’ve been trying to watch this 54min episode for an hour and a half. This app is literally the worst I’ve ever used. It is ridiculous that the standard to which this app operates is so appalling. If I was paying a tv broadcaster to stream my show - I would be shocked at the poor quality to which this app works. It ruins the entire experience of me trying to watch a show I enjoy. The leaders of your company must be stupid if they think that an app as trash as this one is not an embarrassing reputation enough - especially as tv broadcaster. This is literally your whole purpose. If I could give it no stars I would.
