Very upsetting , I’m making a Timelapse of a luner eclipse and once it’s got red iy went haywire, iy stopped focusing and the tracking jerked spring and wouldn’t stay still . Then I had to stop iy get out find the moon manually( still not sure why the moon csnt be found with stars) . Had a similar experience filming a sunset. The tracking jerked up soem left and right . This is completely a software issue. Other then this I love my Seestar

Disappointing to see another nice app written but not for iPad. On iPad it stays in iPhone format (portrait) and only fills the screen for 1/3 if enlarged. Pretty sad about that and a missed opportunity.

good for astrophotgraphy, not for Sun, Moon and planets

The S50 is amazing when it comes to astrophotography. Just a 5 cm aperture gives, in combination with many features, astonishing results for the beginner or casual observer. And that with a simple alt-az mount (which you can turn into Eq with the software and an external equatorial mount). Plenty of features which are constantly expanded.The software has a Sun and Moon feature which sadly is not working or at most working sporadically. Despite all the calibration you want or perform, it will fail in finding Sun and Moon. Manual search is possible for the Sun, but a labor of sheer luck. Finding it is a bonus. In 95% of the time it won’t find sun, moon or planets. And to be honest, the Seestar isn’t made for planetary observation.If you don’t care, go for the SeeStar and make nighttime pictures. You’ll be amazed
