This update fixes an issue where Jayson could briefly think Unlock Everything was no longer purchased after launch or returning from the background. In some cases, that could reset settings protected by the upgrade before the purchase state was recovered. The Shortcuts actions now connect inputs from the previous action automatically, making workflows like “Get Contents of URL” → “View JSON” or “Format JSON” smoother to set up.

Jayson has been rebuilt for iOS 26. Design - A fresh look throughout, including the tab bar, toolbars and menus. - App icons now include dynamic ones that follow light, dark and tinted appearances. - Expand objects and arrays in place to see their contents without navigating into them. - A redesigned editor for changing values. - Native menus for toolbar and editor actions. Shortcuts - View JSON takes a file or text and opens it as a document you keep or a preview you dismiss when you are done. - Format JSON uses spaces or tabs and hands the result to the next action. Settings - Reorganized and easier to navigate. - Tabs Placement: put the tabs at the top or the bottom. - Type Display: show the type in front of a key or under it. - Line Wrapping and a font picker for the plain text view. Jayson 1.5 requires iOS 26.

Fixes an issue where the list of breadcrumbs weren't correctly updated after selecting a breadcrumb. This was also the root cause for a common crash.

Fixes issue where error messages would sometimes not be shown when Jayson failed to open a URL scheme.

When creating a document, you will only need to choose if the root of the document should be a dictionary or an array. The new document is a temporary document, meaning that you will be prompted to save it when closing. - New: Dims the background color of selected values in splits that are inactive. Only the active split responds to keyboard shortcuts. - New: Adds a new setting on the iPad to dim the content of inactive splits. - New: Adds the Shift+CMD+S keyboard shortcut for saving a copy of a document.

Jayson is now available on the Mac! Bringing Jayson to the Mac also benefits the iOS and iPadOS versions of Jayson. This update adds support for navigating JSON with an external keyboard, improves drag and drop of splits and tabs, more customisation options, better error handling and much more. - New: There's a bunch of new keyboard shortcuts for navigating and editing JSON on the iPad. - New: Dragging a split into a tab will now move the split rather than copy it. - New: Creating a new window from a split or a tab will now move the split or tab rather than copy it. - New: Adds more type icon styles. Fixes an issue where files containing CR LF (\r\n) line breaks could not be parsed. The issue was introduced in version 1.2.1.

In the settings you can choose if the parsed JSON should be stored. - Quickly get an overview of the types in a JSON document with the new icons shown next to the data type in the table view. If you’ve purchase the “Unlock Everything” upgrade, you can choose between three different appearances of these or choose to hide them all together. - The new “Highlighted key” feature makes it quicker to get an overview of an array by extracting a value from its child objects to the list of values in the array. So in addition to the array indices, you can now display the value of a key. - Force touch the app icon to quickly parse the content of your clipboard. - There’s a today view which makes it fast to view JSON in the app, if your clipboard contains valid JSON or a link. - When closing an unsaved file, Jayson will now ask you if you want to save the file before closing it.
