Timelines is an easy-to-use yet powerful time tracking app that helps you understand how you spend your day, improve your productivity, and build better habits. Track work, personal activities, health routines, and daily habits in one place, then visualize your time with an interactive timeline and charts to uncover patterns and make the most out of your time.
I personally wasn't happy with the way I was spending my time, so I decided to build a tool to help myself and others figure out a way to become more efficient. Timelines has been enabling me and other users to understand where our time is actually going, helping us improve our routines, build better habits, increase productivity, and achieve more in our personal and professional lives. I sincerely believe it can do the same for you.

Time is like money: we never have enough, and we often can’t remember how we spent it. Timelines is razor-sharp instrument in our time-management toolkit, letting us categorise and visualise where the hours in our hectic days are going. We love it for everything from tracking billable time on projects to making sure we’re setting aside chunks of our week to relax with loved ones.
App I’ve Been Looking For
Shell_Wood
Although newly discovered, this is now my favourite and most useful app. I love that the category tag colours are fully customisable, it’s super easy to use and track times… the goals feature is brilliant and lets me know when my daily/weekly/monthly target has been met (I’m currently using it for work/work breaks!/exercise/household chores/reading but again you can set any category you want. My one bit of feedback would be to add functionality to have different goals on different days as not everyone works a standard pattern (including me). The export reports are brilliant and tags within categories make it super easy to see where you are spending time within certain categories. Just a top app, totally independent and unbiased review using the premium (paid for) version but I will definitely be keeping on repeat subscription. Be as general or as granular as your planning and tracking heart desires. Massive well done to the developers, it’s excellent.
Where does all the time go?
Andrew Hanson, Author
Timelines is a truly amazing little app that I found quite by chance a few days ago. It is well designed and has one simple, but very effective goal at its heart; to show you exactly what you are spending your time doing.I have long looked at various types of app to tell me this. Some with terribly complicated systems to try to offer you this insight. Others with exorbitantly expensive subscriptions presumably aimed at business clients. But Timelines has managed to bring clarity to showing me what I get up to, along with simplicity. Tap in a timeline in the Today widget and it starts a timer with the option to describe the event in more detail. Tap on the Apple Watch complication and boom you have a timer on your wrist showing you what you are spending your time doing. It is all designed to make entering information simple and straightforward.Beneath the hood though, in the events list and in the detailed analysis screens lie the true power of this app. A nice visual display of your day offers depth of insight into where the hours have gone. And of course, if you are honest with the app, and set a timer for when you are not doing something productive, the sense that the app is keeping an eye on your activity is enough to shame you into doing something else more productive. Brilliant. An absolute steal for the amount of money this app costs.I also understand that a version 2 is due out sometime soon with automated time trackers rolling out in the new version.Seriously, if you care about making the most of your day, for the small amount of money this app costs I would give it a go and see if it helps you as much as it has helped me.Five stars. Highly recommended.
The best iOS tracking software available
el Tel54
If you’re looking for a time tracking solution, stop right here. Lukas has crafted the best piece of timetracking software I’ve ever seen. It contains every conceivable option you might need. Best of all it not only works on your iPhone but also your Apple Watch. I’ve been using this for several years and I wouldn’t consider using anything else. Lukas has added many features over that time, and when an issue has occurred, he has worked very hard to fix it for me. Buy with confidence.*update July 2025 - I'm still using this app on my iPhone and iPad on a daily basis. It does everything I need and frankly it's indispensable. I will be trying Siri shortcuts next. Brilliant app.
• Improved: Empty states now better explain the core functionality of Timelines.
• Fixed: Widgets could sometimes incorrectly show the not-subscribed state for subsribed users.
• Fixed: Certain notifications could cause high CPU usage on macOS.
• Fixed: The sign-in sheet could appear repeatedly for users who don't use Timelines Cloud.
