An open world adventure game filled with silly characters and terrible secrets.
Afterplace is an adventurous indie game for mobile devices. It's a huge open world, full of hidden secrets, treasures, and creatures. You'll run around the woods, fight monsters, and talk to ostensibly shady characters! All from your pocket! Be warned though - you never know what the forest might be hiding, and not all trails are paved. Labyrinths and dungeons are tucked away in the most concealed nooks. There are no waypoints in Afterplace. You'll have to forge your own path.
Afterplace has been designed from the ground up to be a fast, fluid, beautiful experience for mobile. There are no virtual buttons. You can move and attack by touching anywhere. You can tap objects directly to interact or attack, use two thumbs like a traditional controller, or control the game with a physical gamepad. The game will adapt dynamically to your play style. Pick up and set down the game at your own pace, it will always save your progress. Afterplace is made to feel like a full-fledged indie adventure game that fits in your pocket.
About the Author:
Afterplace is made by one person, Evan Kice. A former software engineer from Austin TX, Evan quit his job (to the dismay of his friends and family) and has been working full time on Afterplace since early 2019. The initial game released in December of 2022, but Evan plans on continuing to support and polish the game when he can!
A delight to explore, brimming with surprises ranging from sarcastic vending machines to nightmarish bosses, we’re still finding new paths, new choices, and unexpected encounters that make us laugh.

This game is a pure masterpiece! The controls are great, and the paranormal story is excellent! This is in my top 5 mobile games of all time. I only wish it had more exposure. The dev behind it is a genius, I really want him to release more games like this one!5 stars fully deserved! ⭐️
A true gem

Wow, what a great game this is! Took me 10 hours to beat, and it was good from the first minute to the last. Replaying it right now… The dialogs with the NPCs are so well written, it’s really a joy to read and learn about them. Combat is fun and responsive, and the world is really well built. I hope the game will get re recognition it deserves.A few tips (only non spoilers tips)Place your thumbs where you would place them playing an old Nintendo Gameboy game. Speak to the NPCs more than once… it’s not because they finished their sentence that they don’t have anything else to say ;)The game is full of secrets, look carefully everywhere!Have fun! And thank you Evan for this wonderful game you created, you did something amazing!!!
Very Underrated + Multiple Endings (My favourite!!)

I don’t usually write reviews, but this game absolutely deserves one. Despite having simple mechanics, this game is incredibly immersive and conveys multiple elaborate endings. You can tell by the quality of gameplay, story-writing, and attention to detail that the developer (Evan Kice) cares a lot about this game. I’m glad I played this game, it’ll remain one of my favourites.
Fixed an issue with iCloud saves causing dialog issues for some users.
