Pure Acid is a top quality bassline synthesizer and drum machine in one app! Inspired by classic hardware bassline synthesizers and rhythm machines, which changed musical world back in 80's, like the legendary TB-303 synthesizer, TR-808 / 707 / 909 rhythm boxes and their numerous replicas, Pure Acid is designed to bring back the feeling of retro analog gear in every detail in terms of sound, as well as to provide new functions previously unavailable in the original devices to make your music creation workflow fast and fun! A large number of factory preset patterns will immerse you into an exciting world of Acid House, Techno, Hardcore and Big Beat music genres, which will inspire you to create your own basslines and rhythms for your compositions!

It’s taken me a couple of attempts to get the hang of this app and get it properly synced and stay in time with Ableton. But I finally worked it out and it is wonderful! For my setup, the trick was to use track delay settings in Ableton on the audio track that the iPad is feeding into by -35ms and that seemed to line up the acid bass with my Ableton project pretty tight. Before that it was miles out of sync and sounded rubbish. The real magic for me in this app is being able to set your key of your track and hit the generator button to generate new patterns. I cannot stand dialling in patterns on my hardware 303 synth and this solves that problem beautifully. Well done to the person that made this app. I’m going to be selling my hardware now as this is so much easier at just getting the job done.
Simply Stellar

I’m a Rebirth user from 25 years ago. Moved away from electronica, but have returned recently. I looked at many 303 apps on Mac, but none matched my memory of Rebirth (Phoscyon2 is pretty good though, but 10x the price of Pure Acid). Superb UI, great sounds, nice presets to jump start things. No annoying subscriptions, which I rarely acquiesce to. Great price. Just get it! Oh, and as always, Slava Ukraini! Since the war began, I’ve discovered that many of my favourite apps are written by Ukrainians. Hope to visit one day, once they kick the Orcs out.
Awesome, but please allow for Mac M1

Jim, I love this app. I recently bought a Mac Studio and was disappointed to see that none of your app’s apart from Poison run on M1/2. Please allow these to run natively considering the chipset is the same now. Much love and hope all is ok in the Ukraine.
Just wow

Great little sketchpad. I find myself starting tracks on this and then transcribing them to my tr8 and 303 shortly after. Won't be surprised if I do a whole track just in the app!
In the standalone app:
- improved compatibility with new iPad display resolutions and aspect ratios. Now the app's interface adjusts to any screen size automatically;
- implemented portrait orientation mode support (for iPad) to comply with the new iPadOS 26 requirements. In the portrait mode, all 4 module racks are visible simultaneously on the screen together with the onscreen keyboard;
- graphics refresh rate increased to 120 FPS (where available);
- minor bug fixes.
