I have found that hackers are getting in through Marketplace Messenger which is a huge worry Meta needs to protect users regardless of what country we are in. I am going to report this to Scamwatch In Australia which is The Govt Scam watch Which is serious if they get involved I put this up To see who else has been hacked this way. You put something up for sale You get about 10-50 buyers from India Mainly from Delhi their location with a few from Mumbai from the names they use They come in straight away who ask you a question Once you reply they are in to our phone Meta you need to stop this You have no protections for us You’ve left an open door for hackers Of late they are coming in and stealing my photos and my messages Can you tell me what you and your staff have done to stop the encryption messagesA year on Meta has done nothing I have referred this to the Australian Govt dept Scamwatch and I have referred this to the telecommunications ombudsman who will be looking into Meta for answers to this post

I’ve always enjoyed using the app for both business & personal but I’m noticing more and more weird notifications and messages coming in. I was away from home using my telco data not public wifi using the app and a Meta notification appeared that said “Update Messenger today to avoid losing access to the app…There’s a new version of Messenger with important security updates. You will soon lose access to the app”. I wasn’t updating without being on my own wifi so I left it, every day for 3 days I got the same message and I hadn’t lost access. I reported it through Help Centre asking if this was legitimate and noted this was written sounding threatening that I’d lose access but I’ve never had a response! Are they really serious about security because it sure doesn’t seem so! I waited till I was back home and still hadn’t lost access some days later, not wanting to update via this notification I went to App Store and found there was an update so updated from there. Now yesterday about a month later I received another notification from Meta that said a new security measure is being introduced to protect your chat history using a pin. Reluctantly I thought about it and decided it could be in response to the previous concerns so I selected a pin. Today I get a call showing it was a group chat call from several friends, weird as some were not on any existing group chat so I ignored. One friend called me and asked if I just called her, I could see that a couple of friends had joined the call, I didn’t! She said the caller id was a long number which I’ve taken note of. Be very aware when using the app this has to be a scam as none of these friends initiated a call!!!! I’m not wasting my time reporting it again if the developers of Meta couldn’t care less and not bother responding!!!!!

I’ve been left but no option but to leave a review here in hopes meta will respond this is so badHad my streaming page up that was taken down for no apparent reason , checked all T&C’s was left no message on what I did wrong whilst this happened I had my personal accounts deleted, I lost my Facebook, my Instagram my car detailing business page which is my main source of income, I’ve had no income now as this is the 3rd this has happened over the last 2 months I’ve had to submit my ID which I did on 3 seperate occasions had my account deleted 3 times all for no reasonOn the last incident my account was deleted on the 4th June, was told I needed to submit my ID, submitted my ID on the 5th it’s now been 2 weeks again this is going on 2 months with no socials I’ve got family overseas that are terminally ill, I’ve got photos of deceased friends and family members I cannot collect, so not only am I not able to work I cannot even talk to my relatives when an account is taken down there’s no support option there’s no where to reach out, I’ve sent emails to a support email with no response I don’t know what I’ve done but this is so sad and so crippling,

Liking the fact you can now automatically see when someone was online last which is great but it seems with that feature you have removed some valuable ones. The msg sent to the person and if they’ve seen it without going into that persons specific chat has now gone as has the notification that I’ve received a msg has now gone. New message only shows up in bold when I’m physically in msgr no notification despite all my settings saying notifications on. Come one fb I thought these updates were meant to improve a users experience not impede on it.... additionally the hide a conversation with this new update has removed as being an option. I don’t want to archive I want to hide the conversation
